Commercial Finance Analyst

You will be joining Lifetime Training one of the UK's largest training providers, delivering innovative learning strategies through industry-experienced trainers, curriculum experts, and leading edge technology.

This role is responsible for partnering with all Group companies, supporting their directors with regular and insightful financial analysis with a particular focus on detailed analysis, pricing models and contractual support. The role requires collaboration with the Senior Leadership and Finance teams, but also with all departments across the Group.

What will you be doing? 

• Review month end reporting to ensure accurate, timely & insightful data is produced in the most efficient manner
• Prepare the monthly Finance Packs for presentation at the monthly Board meetings to ensure financial performance is well understood, including future risks & opportunities
• Support stakeholders across group with ad-hoc analysis
• Assist with the preparation of the annual financial business plan (budget) and forecasts as appropriate
• Financial modelling for pricing of new products and commercial viability reviews
• Support the development of pricing models
• Assist with the review new client & supplier contracts ensuring financial risk is mitigated as appropriate prior to CFO final sign-off
• Provide sound financial appraisals of projects, communicating financial benefits or outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
• Ad hoc activities and projects as directed by CFO
• You may also be required to undertake additional duties that are necessary to effectively deliver the responsibilities and objectives of the role
• Provide robust Management Information & analysis to support month end results
• Review the month end reporting process (central team prepare the base data)
• Identify opportunities for improvement within area of control
• Monthly review of accruals, prepayments and aged debt
• Ad hoc duties as delegated by the CFO, Head of FP&A or Directors of Innovate/Skilltech
• Create and maintain pricing models for new products/services

What will you bring to the role?

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW).
• Strong commercial awareness & attention to detail.
• Experience preparing presentation for varied stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess challenges and identify practical solutions in a growing company.
• Ability to convey financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial/operational stakeholders, using appropriate formats and tools.
• A collaborative team member who adapts well to changing priorities and works effectively to meet objectives.
• Experience with Finance & Accounting systems, such as ERP software or financial management tools
• Microsoft Office applications (specifically strong Excel skills: Lookups & Pivot tables)

It would be great if you had

• Thorough grasp of financial control processes & compliance
• Experience in reviewing and understanding legal contracts, or a background in contract law, business law, or related fields.
• Continuous Improvement (or similar) process improvement expertise
• Experience of Access Financials
